The ability to distribute/balance the ships energy resources between lasers/shields/engines makes combat more interesting, and a bit more 'strategic'. other games may have similar systems, this is just one that springs to mind


Gremlin's Two Cents

  • Keyboard Messages - KB shortcuts for pre-defined team/global voice messages (Unreal Torn.)
  • Cameras - In the Descent series you could view 360 around your ship using the numpad (Descent)
  • Bombing - I found the bombers in BF1942 to be a heap of fun, BF:V sucked (BF1942)
  • Command screen - Before multiplayer game starts, commanders can draw plans & tactics on a mud map for the team (Expansion on Commander interface Natural Selection)
  • Ambushes - Bots should work togeather like a team (RTCW and Medal of Honour)
  • Head Hunting - Bounty rewards for certain players heads (Elite)
  • Garage/Home - A place to store multiple ships, rest/save, find more 'work' (Driver/GTA)
  • LineOfSight - A line that helps aim the weapon (Boulders Gate2, Close Combat series)
