Overview

Kruel Studios ("Kruel") was formed with some key philosophies in mind.

Key Goals

Industry Best Gaming

Our most important goal is, with the help of the community, to make the best gaming experience possible. This is a holistic goal, involving all aspects of development, from conceptual design through to maintenance and upgrades. We do not believe in 'abandon-ware'. If it is no longer financially viable to continue to support and develop a game after several years, the game should be given back to the community in a completely open and free fashion, to ensure people's gaming experience is not impacted.

Users should be given every opportunity to provide feedback on the game, and such feedback should be carefully considered.

Return on Investment

People who have invested with us from an early day should see a solid return. When Kruel is a sucessful, self sufficent company, the people who helped us attain our status should be the ones that benefit. This may take the form of dividends on shares, or


Guiding Principles

Collaboration

We want to encourage people to work together in a team on projects they can be duly proud of and by doing so achieve more than what they would when they work on their own. It is our belief that everyone has some ability that can be utilised for a common purpose.

Through this collaboration, people should have a constructive experience. By structuring the projects appropriately, we want to give people the opportunity to gain experiences on real life projects. We want them to develop their own skills and expand their exposure to different technologies and creative outlets. As such, contributors should be able to readily obtain credit for work they have done on offical projects.

Freedom

We believe that people should be free to choose their own path in life. With this in mind, we propose to develop the games that avoid dictating user choices such as operating system (we will primarily support Linux, MacOS and MS-Windows). Where possible we will make our games available at zero cost. By granting these freedoms we totally eliminate the potential for software piracy. While we respect copyright holder's rights to dictate the terms for their "Intellectual Property". We do not feel that we should profiteer as many do over something designed to be "fun". Money that we do make through the commericalisation of the games and technologies we develop will go into running costs of the company, and the employment of quality individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to our philosophy and processes.

Openness and Integrity

All aspects of our processes should be open to public scrutinty, from financial management and corporate governance, through to the products we develop. This will ensure that our clients, and investors know that they can trust and rely on us to give them accurate and timely information.

This will also ensure that we are not given the opportunity to inadvertantly put ourselves in a legally questionable position.
