From KruelWiki
trocalc4t trpasc Being a rather large universe, a large variety of ships are required.
Ships are broken up into three broad groups: Military, Commercial and private. There is some overlap, but typically commercial vessels retrofitted for military use require the same security clearance as standard military vessels, see Restricted Ships
Military
Access to theses ships is only by virtue of sufficent rank in the (appropriate) military. This group encompasses 'all militaries, including pirate and militia armies.
- Fighter
- Designed for interception/ attack roles
- Assault
- Assault ships include bombers and fire-support vessels
- Capital
- Ships to obtain and maintain space supremacy
Commercial
With enough credits, anyone can own one of these ships without having to be working for someone else.
- Merchant
- Designed to carry cargo and people
- Privateer
- Designed for the more entrepreneurial types in the universe
- Engineering
- Moving platforms, repair ships ... generally useful to have a round at times
- Science
- Research vessels, long range scouts etc.
Private
Private ships are generally those belonging to the upper classes of the empire. Technically these ships could fit under either a commerical or millitary heading but as they are generally useless for anything but transporting in luxury or thrillseeking they are in a class of thier own.
- Luxury Yachts
- These are the ships used for short to medium range transport of the well to do.
- Thrill Seekers
- These short ranged ships are generally very fast, very maneuvrable or very dangerous, to themselves.
- Cruise Liners
- Ships that can often match a small destroyer in size these are the elite roving casino's or luxury cruise ships of the aristocracy.
